François Richard’s interest in the treatment of adolescents and borderline states, on the one hand, and the cultural and psychosocial evolution, on the other, are at the center of his extremely rich new work, in which he brings these two dimensions together. The author will attempt to show a link between the increase of borderline pathologies and the evolution of civilization’s discontent, which is associated with a pervertization of the superego (contradictory double bind of liberation and puritanism).
L’intérêt de F. Richard pour la clinique des adolescents et des états limites d’une part, et l’évolution psychosociale et culturelle d’autre part, est au centre de son nouvel ouvrage très riche, dans lequel il articule ces deux dimensions. L’auteur propose d’établir un lien entre l’augmentation de la pathologie limite et l’évolution du malaise dans la culture, en lien à une pervertisation du surmoi (double injonction contradictoire de libération et de puritanisme).
Il existe autant de risques de basculement dans l’engagement radical, que d’histoires singulières des adolescents. Nous avons mené une étude en population générale sur les représentations des jeunes et la radicalité. Nous analysons l’entretien d’une jeune femme musulmane franco-algérienne. Son récit permet de montrer les liens entre sa quête identitaire et le contexte socio-historique tel qu’elle se le représente, ce qui permet d’articuler l’intrapsychique, le subjectif et le collectif.
Il faut qu’on parle de Kevin, L. Shriver’s epistolary novel, offers clinical material exploring the homicidal behavior of an adolescent boy who kills eleven people in the America of the 1980’s. It tells of suffering linked to the work of motherhood and education – maternal work – as well as the failure of these, which seems to be the source of the homicidal conduct. The links between violence, thought and Kultur will be investigated.
Il faut qu’on parle de Kevin, roman épistolaire de L. Shriver, offre un matériel clinique interrogeant la rationalité d’une conduite meurtrière d’un adolescent tueur de onze personnes dans l’Amérique des années 80. Nous sont donnés à lire la souffrance liée au travail de maternage et éducatif – le travail maternel – ainsi que les achoppements de celui-ci qui semblent au cœur de la conduite meurtrière. C’est ainsi les liens entre violence, pensée et Kultur qui se trouvent ici réinterrogés.
Virtual spaces are particularly well-suited to auto-therapeutic uses, especially for suffering personalities. At the same time, these spaces foster the construction of a new culture in which youngsters attempt to construct the landmarks that are missing in their daily lives
Every adolescent, at every generation, is violently caught within a social context and implied within a problematics of transmission and filiation, of debt and heritage. Whether they be alone or in a group, adolescents are actors/witnesses introducing their objects, their discourses and their types of behaviour in places where they go through. Adolescence is an unstable category, without any specific seat and which may either be appropriated or melancholized. The adolescent scene, vulnerable as it is, questions forcibly the institutions and demands that a potential space should be fit enabling the transformation of both the psychological and the social that are implied within such a passage. It is a turning point where collective and individual stakes are condensed and where violences swarm and become cristallized. The adolescent scene thus becomes a violent dramatization at the crossroads between the psychological and the social.
Through a brief linguistic and anthropological reading, the author isolates the structuring representations of the street. He then interrogates the vacuity of this street and formulates an hypothesis which articulates the emptiness of the street with the incapacity of the adolescent’s human environment. For him, the street’s explosions are the reflection of the adult’s incoherence and insufficiency. Through a clinical case, the author proposes framework for constructing a network in a troubled neighborhood. For the author, this methodology implicates clinical psychology and psychoanalysis in the social field.
This article deals with the relations that youths from urban housing projects and their families have with the law. The regulation of their lives by obscure and infra-legal norms interposes itself and relegates the official norm to the background. It becomes strange, threatening and inhospitable. So that the juvenile justice system must work with this widening gap if it is to avoid the risk of tipping into repressive violence.
Developing the theme of culture among friends accentuates the shared ideals that are constructed at this time. In a first chapter, this “ adolescens or intersubjectal culture ” is differentiated from the intergenerational “ psychology of fathers and mothers ”. It helps to construct adolescent communities whose references are a-familial.
Groups of couples should be distinguished from communities of friends. The first have a class dialectic with institutions. The second have intercommunity relations which are inter and intra-generational. These theoretical points of view will conclude with the analysis of the adolescent friendship of Paul Cézanne and Émile Zola and its outcome.
