Anne Tassel : figures of sexual indistinctness : the mangas

The play of exchange between male and female enacted by the mangas seems to satisfy the fantasy and the anxiety of sexual indistinctness in the adolescent, who is invited by this reading to « undergo a complete mutation while remaining the same »… The thematic of the mangas highlights the major impact of this fantasy of permutation of the sexes through transvestitism, while they seem to us to mask resistances to the sexual choice. The permeability between male and female figures, insisting on enacting an exhibitionism of the feminine, aims more to make the female sex « shine », to the detriment of a modification of the object relation. The adjustment of sexual ambiguity to reality, by reactivating the projective system, seems to settle for a cultural image that is both playful and complex, figuring something of the actuality of the work on sexual differentiation.

François Richard : Temporality, Psychosis, and Melancholy at Adolescence

In this article, the author shows how the concept of subjectivation grew out of clinical work on psychotic states in adolescence. These are related to a melancholic core that is sometimes difficult to discern beneath the drive conflicts of puberty. Using a clinical case of adolescent-onset psychosis, the problem of the fundamental relation between psychosis, temporality and melancholy is restated in a way that can account for “ borderline ”-looking symptomotologies, within a post-Freudian theoretical framework and with reference to certain contributions of Green and Racamier.

Caroline Civalleri : in the course of the writing

This account of the institutional treatment of an adolescent boy, which essentially turned around his relationship with writing, aims to discuss the possibility of the establishment of a cultural work. The different movements that colored the relationship between this adolescent and his reader are described here, showing the passage from a bond with the object to its use in helping to make writing into a cultural object that can be shared.

Fanny Dargent : inside/outside persecution. From body’s self-destruction to a skin’s plan : study for a movement of detoxifying projection

The therapeutic management of a teenage girl, in whose case history body attacks, either in the form of somatization or acting out/auto aggression, made it possible to understand better the morbid practices of auto-mutilation beyond the classical forms of attacking (at the moment of puberty) the body baring the genital sexuality. Attacking the body (either internally or on the surface) shows the dysfunction of the psychical movement, which goes hand in hand with a pathological Ego-skin in two ways : the first, multi pores showing the defect of pare excitation; the second, the protective shell trying to « keep everything in » when faced with the anxiety of emptiness, leading to self-poisoning. Using a topographical model, the skin wounds are to be considered in their explosive dimension to change the self, like true « psychical air vents » for the psyche threatened with asphyxiation. Paradoxically, these wounds open up a detoxifying movement of projection taking phobic or persecutory forms necessary to build up a « withholding » front, able to welcome the pubertal Eros detoxified of its « impulsion madness ».

Bernard Duez, Richard Durastante : on paranoia during adolescence. projection or diffraction, between foreclosure and the bond of incompatibility

This article tries to make a distinction between paranoid elements in adolescence and authentic paranoia. It opposes diffraction and projection in order to differentiate the paranoid elements from paranoiac psychosis. It shows how the physical indexes of sexual maturity infer a return of the « originary » and a new interpretation of the primal bonds. According to this interpretation by the psychic environment, the teenager can build new demarcations between intrapsychic, intersubjective, intimacy and otherness. These interpretations enable the teenager to conquer a new intimacy through the bond of incompatibility
